 WELDING SHOP POLICIES

Night and Weekend Schedule

*Wednesday night: 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Introduction to Welding. All new welders will be required to attend a Wednesday night session. You must receive a clearance from the Wednesday night Instructional staff or the Apprenticeship full‐time instructional staff to qualify to test.

30 minute lecture

4 hours 30 minutes opens shop for welding. NO TESTING

*Saturday: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 30 minute Lunch break to be taken at 11:30 a.m. No exceptions

Welding Certifications: 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Open for welders who have been cleared to test by instructor(s). You must present your signed book given to you at the Introduction to welding class, or by the Apprenticeship full‐time instructional staff.

*Open Shop for practice: 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

If you wish to participate in the Welding Program must be prepared to present a current dues receipts and have your own personal equipment,; i.e. Hard Hat, Welding Hood, Chipping Hammer, Wire Brush, Work Boots, and proper clothing. If you are not prepared, you will be asked to leave.

This is a Journeyman retraining course; Journeymen will be given priority with booth assignment.

Weekday

Monday thru Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., after dispatch. Apprentices attending assigned classes will have priority during booth selection.

Apprentice(s) must complete their Orientation class in order to attend.

Probationary member(s) are not allowed.
